While studying philology as a humanitarian science, I have always wanted to look ahead and reflect on how society and communication in it will change. Of course, it can be difficult to keep track of all innovations, trying to determine the direction in which humanity will develop in the coming decades, but that's why it's a fantasy to distract from the real state of affairs and create some new, as yet unknown world. Since there can be no wrong answers to such questions, let's turn to those that we found in the process of writing this creative work.
So, as we see it, by the year 2100, humanity must go through a radical transformation, giving birth to a vision of the future in which the line between science fiction and reality is blurred. The progress of science, technology and society cannot but cause the emergence of a new world that encourages us to think in depth. In fact, the most important question that future generations will face at the moment when we are preparing to take a step into the new century concerns the essence of man: whether it will change depending on new circumstances and to what extent these changes will affect us all.
The world in 2100 should bear witness to the power of technological innovation. Quantum computing will reveal the secrets of the universe to us, allowing us to solve the most complex problems in a matter of seconds where previously it took years or even decades of thought. These technologies will improve areas such as medicine, climate control and materials science, which will lead us to unprecedented discoveries. We can also imagine that in the future artificial intelligence will develop some kind of consciousness, and it will exist on an equal basis with people not only as a tool, but as a valuable assistant in scientific discoveries, in the world of art, as well as in everyday life. He will have his own rights and responsibilities, and this will provoke a public debate about the boundaries of being and thinking. Medicine will rise to a new level thanks to nanotechnology. Small nanobots will circulate through the human body, diagnosing and treating damaged tissues. Life expectancy will steadily increase as medicines for diseases that were once considered incurable become available. However, not everything is as rosy as it seems at first glance, since an increase in the average age of the inhabitants of the planet can lead to its overpopulation, and economic difficulties may arise in some countries due to the predominance of the older population in the general structure of society.
Nowadays, climate change is becoming a serious threat, but by 2100 humanity will make unprecedented progress in this area. Clean and renewable energy sources will be used everywhere in order to reduce carbon emissions into the atmosphere. Humanity will understand how to get along with the environment by applying sustainable development methods in all areas of life. Urban planning will also change for the better: large agglomerations will be replaced by eco-cities in which green oases can exist next to advanced technologies. Real gardens will grow next to the buildings, and pedestrians, cyclists and electric scooter drivers will move along the streets. Disposable plastic will finally go into the distant past.
The nation-states that we knew in the 20th century will also go through a process of transformation. Regional and global structures will unite to jointly solve the multifaceted problems of the 21st century. United Earthlings will address planetary challenges, including climate management, space exploration and conflict resolution. International disputes will no longer be resolved through wars, but through negotiations and arbitration. The concept of war will lose its relevance, and diplomacy, cooperation and humanitarian efforts will take its place.
Cultural diversity will remain a defining milestone in human development, but it will still take on new forms. The language barrier can be overcome with the help of real-time translation technologies, so that people from all over the world can communicate seamlessly. In this way, cultures will mix and intermingle, creating a unique wealth of world customs and traditions. Art and creativity will flourish as writers, musicians and other artists will be able to draw inspiration from such a mix of cultures, thanks to the limitless possibilities of technology. Virtual reality will become a space of expression where people can enjoy the creations of their favorite artists in a variety of ways.
However, despite such a delightful picture of the world, new challenges will not go away. Issues of information privacy in a world where personal data is publicly available, the ongoing struggle between humans and artificial intelligence, the allocation of resources in a post–industrial society - all this will remain the subject of discussion and concern. The 22nd century will be an amazing mix of utopian ideals and the most complex ethical issues. Human predisposition to innovation and adaptation to various circumstances has more than once allowed society to find solutions to problems that once seemed insurmountable. The world of 2100 stands before us as a symbol of hope and new opportunities, and also serves as a reminder that the future depends only on ourselves, on our actions and ethical considerations, which we must follow in order to follow the still unexplored path of progress and universal happiness.
